Engage your school

Please contact us if you would like to have a chat about how we can help educate and inform your pupils about the issues of poverty and homelessness—what it looks like in our town and what we can do to make a difference. We provide sessions on emotional health and keeping safe. We also deliver food demonstrations to help stimulate interest in food types and cooking meals on a budget.

Perhaps you would:

consider setting up a food donation point in your school to collect food and other household essentials for our foodbank?

  • like someone to come and talk in your assembly or year group?
  • benefit from your children attending one of our school open days? This provides an insight into our food warehouse, how and why we prepare food parcels and the impact of homelessness and poverty in our town.
  • like your school to get involved in collecting food and other household essentials at Harvest time or for our Christmas hampers? or
  • like to organise a fundraising activity to support our work?

Please contact us regarding any of the above, or if you have another great idea and would like to involve us. In the first instance please email admin@urbanoutreach.co.uk or ring us on 01204 385848 and speak with a member of our team.

“Our group of years 5 and 6 pupils thoroughly enjoyed the two hours we spent with Urban Outreach – learning about poverty and homelessness in Bolton and the part we can all play to make a difference. The emphasis was in treating all visitors, clients and guests with a smile. The session really challenged misconceptions and put into practice our school values. A thoroughly engaging session which the children clearly enjoyed, thank you!” (teacher from St. John’s C of E Primary School, Kearsley)
