About
The word ‘Genesis’ takes its meaning from ‘the beginning’. The beginning of life is good. However, we can get knocked about and damaged by the trials and tribulations of life. For some, the scars can leave a lasting and damaging legacy. Genesis is all about building a community where people have a sense of belonging and purpose. It is a place for people to get together, build relationship in a positive environment and to work with mentors to learn new skills and build upon current interests. We believe that in the right environment, people can have the opportunity to heal and flourish.
What we do
This project is gradually being realised within the building and grounds of the Amber Centre (former Central Baptist Church). The activities we are planning will link with other projects which are also being run from the Centre. Our aim is to involve the voices of the Genesis community and volunteer mentors in order to create the best environment. This may include, but is not limited to; cooking, gardening, creative/arts, games.
At present we offer a games session on a Wednesday morning.

At present this service is referral only and does not have a drop-in element. Referrals are from professionals via 01204 385848 and asking to speak to someone from Genesis.
