Leaving a legacy

Leaving a legacy

Remembering Urban Outreach in your Will means you can continue making a difference in the lives of others, when you are no longer here. Your gift will mean we can continue to be there for those who have no one else to turn to, giving many more people the help and hope they need and want.

There are 3 main types of gift you can make:

  • residuary – a share in, or all of, what’s left of the value of your estate after family and friends have been taken care of
  • pecuniary – a specific sum of money
  • specific – an item such as jewellery or a piece of art

The advantage of leaving a residuary rather than a pecuniary gift is that it stays the same over time and you won’t need to be reviewed to keep up with inflation.

If you already have a Will and you want to include a gift to Urban Outreach (sometimes called a legacy), there may not be any need to rewrite it.

You can ask a qualified professional such as a solicitor to add an amendment (called a codicil). If the change is more significant or complex you may be advised to make a new Will.

Urban Outreach is registered with CAF donate. We can securely receive monetary donations through this platform for a small administration fee. Further information on leaving a legacy via CAF donate can be found here: https://www.cafonline.org/my-personal-giving/long-term-giving/legacies

Once you have made a bequest, please contact us, to let us know what you have done so we can personally thank you and keep in touch.
