About

Storehouse Foodbank has been running for over 15 years, supporting residents of Bolton through the provision of weekly food parcels. We are referral based and have seen over 500 individual professionals trained in order to place referrals. The food given through Storehouse Foodbank is donated through the generosity of many churches, schools, organisations and individuals across the town. We receive donations through specific collections or that have been placed in a ‘Grub Tub’. Grub Tubs look like wheely bins with our logos on and are situated in various supermarkets, churches and community centres around the town. Click here to find a local Grub Tub.

What we do

The heart of Storehouse Foodbank is that everyone who receives food is being supported through their circumstances. We operate an online referral system where professionals can place a referral for food to be provided to someone they are working with. For this reason, we don’t take self-referrals but we can signpost you to someone who can make a referral on your behalf.

Once we receive the referral, we will allocate the family or individual to a Collection Point or in some circumstances may be able to offer a home delivery. Our Collection Points work in partnership with the communities that host them to provide a safe and friendly environment in which to not only collect food but also engage with other activities that are taking place in that location.

Many of the Collection Points are also warm spaces, have free refreshments, debt advisors, toddler groups and job clubs. Our current Collection Points are located:

Urban Outreach, Environ House, Salop Street, BL2 1DZ – Every weekday 10am-12pm

Grace Church, Somerset Road, BL1 4NE – Tuesdays 10.30am-1.30pm

Sutton Community Centre, Addington Road, BL3 4 QZ – Tuesdays 10am-12pm

Bridge Church Horwich, Rock Street, BL6 5QS – Wednesdays 10am-12pm

Deane Church Centre, 41 Junction Road, BL3 4LT – Fridays 10am-12pm

Each family or individual can receive 4-8 weeks of food parcels from us. We will do our best to supply what might be required for a weeks worth of food. However, because we are reliant on donations we can only provide what we have available.

For trained professionals: Place your login code here: and then click . Other forms of referral are no longer accepted. If you have any difficulties, please contact our office.

Storehouse benefits from the generosity of over 60 schools, 80 churches and numerous local business, organisations and individual people who collect food, both at harvest time and throughout the year.  You can learn more about how to make food donations here.
