About

This project is a one-off provision that is designed to support those in an emergency situation. We administer Local Welfare Provision (LWP) on behalf of Bolton Council. Bolton Council manage the applications and if successful, we top up the gas/electric meters via PayPoint or PayZone machines and provide a food parcel.

What we do
The food parcel and utility top ups are collected from our office; Environ House, Salop Street, BL2 1DZ.
We are open for collections each weekday 10am-12pm.
The food provided in the food parcel is purchased directly by Urban Outreach guaranteeing consistency.
As we administer the project on behalf of Bolton Council we have no input into the outcome of a referral or into how much is awarded on to utility top ups.

There are 3 ways you can apply:

Online: https://www.bolton.gov.uk/benefits/help-crisis-emergency
In person: Go to the One Stop Shop behind the Town Hall and speak to an advisor.
Unfortunately this provision is only for those on prepayment meters. Please contact Bolton Council or Citizens Advice Bolton & Bury for more information on how you could be supported.
LWP also supports with the provision of white goods and furniture. We don’t see that side of the project but applications can be made in the same way.
